Assess and monitor wastewater

Effluent Solution provides a global assessment of the chemical toxicity of wastewater via bioassay analyses. These laboratory analyses are performed on wastewater or contaminated water, at the inlet and outlet of urban treatment plants or industrial sites, in order to carry out a global assessment of toxicity.

Effluent Solution benefits

Quick and reliable

Whether at the inlet or outlet of urban wastewater treatment plants or at the outlet of industrial sites, water can contain chemical and organic substances, some of which may be harmful to health.

Unlike traditional analyses, Tame-Water evaluates the impact of these substances on specifically selected living micro-organisms. Thus Tame-Water is able to quickly and effectively assess the toxicity of these waste or contaminated waters.

Complementary to physico-chemical analyzes

Currently, contaminated water is very closely monitored. Water stakeholders and industrialists are obliged to carry out a certain number of physico-chemical analyzes according to their specific activities. However, these analyses only focus on targeted elements. However, certain unknown substances or substances resulting from the combination of several pollutants can also generate toxicity.

Based on biotechnologies, Effluent Solution is able to answer questions related to the possible impacts of certain polluted waters on key living organisms.

Understand, predict and reduce the effects of a pollutant

With the bioassays proposed by Tame-Water, Effluent Solution makes it possible to better understand the effects of the various pollutants, to identify the risks in time and to set up the associated solutions.

Resources

For the biomonitoring of polluted waters, Tame-Water has developed a unique operational battery of cellular bioassays to analyse the toxicity of these polluted waters in the laboratory.

They are selected for their environmental representativeness, for the complementarity of their sensitivity to chemical toxicity, as well as for their reference figure within the scientific community.

  • Bacteria and yeasts are sensitive to different types of pollutants and are known as generalists,
  • Fungi will reveal the presence of fungicides,
  • Algae have very specific reactions to pesticides, herbicides and drugs.
  • Finally, animal cells will be significant in the case of the presence of endocrine disruptors.

The combination of their responses, analysed by specific software, allows the presence or absence of chemical toxicity in the water to be determined.
